Patek 175th Anniversary Releases

Patek Philippe officially launched its 175th Anniversary watches. There is a new wristwatch complications champion in the Patek line. It is called the Patek Philippe 5175j supercomplication. It consists of no less than 20 complications officially overtaking the 5002/6002 as the most complicated wrist watch ever created by Patek Philippe.
The Patek Philippe 5975 is available in rose, yellow and gold as well as platinum. The 5975 is Patek Philippe’s first in house chronograph with an automatic movement. This watch also features a multi scale chrono dial. This watch in our opinion was unexpected but never the less a joy to have in the Patek range.
The fan favorite seemed to be the Patek Philippe 5575 only available in white gold. This is a classic Patek Philippe World Timer with a twist. It has an amazing moonphone. Unlike most Patek moonphases this one has a very detailed moon as well as a multitude of stars that follow the rotation. We think the 5575 is the winner of the 175th Anniversary releases. It is also available in ladies size in yellow gold reference 7175 with a diamond bezel.

The last and final piece of the 175th anniversary collection is the PatekPhilippe grand complication. It has a gorgeous silver opaline and embossed dial that is absolutely fantastic. The case is hand engraved on the side and is a work of art. Now of course the complication on this watch is the repeater function. Being platinum we expect it to give a nice clear higher pitched sound than say a rose gold case.  Overall the 175th Anniversary Collection has been a homerun and I am sure these limited watches will all sell out very quickly. How to sell Your Rolex Watch

Everyone knows if you want a new Rolex you can walk into an Authorized Dealer and buy one. But what do you do when you are ready to sell your Rolex and cash out or upgrade it to a better model? Well there are several options of liquidating or upgrading your Rolex watch or any other fine Swiss Watch you may be looking to sell.
Your first option is always taking it into the Authorized Dealer you bought it from and see if they will make you an offer. Often times however the Dealer will only take make an offer if you are looking to get another watch from them and usually give you a heavily discounted trade in value.
Your second option would be taking it to a local gold or pawnshop. We cannot stress enough to avoid places like this. They do not know the true value of Swiss Watches and will almost always give you a very low offer.
Your third option is trying to sell it yourself on eBay or an online forum. This could be a great option if you have the proper shipping insurance (UPS, FedEx only insure up to 5000), which is sometimes difficult to get. There are so many scams so pleases be very cautions when selling online. We suggest not using Western Union or PayPal. We suggest accepting bank wire transfer only. This might be a good option if the seller is not in a hurry and can mitigate their risk.
The fourth option is to sell it to a highly regarded and highly trusted online store such as SwissWatchTime.com. A company like this specializes in Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet watches and pay top dollar for Swiss Watches. They provide a free shipping label so the seller does not have to worry about shipping insurance or shipping costs. They often pay within 10% of retail market value.

Often times selling a watch can be an ominous task but after reading this we hope you have a better idea of how best to liquidate your watch.

There are so many horror stories about buying a used Rolex only to find out it’s a fake. Considering most people that buy a Rolex after many years of planning and saving and to think all their hard work could be put in jeopardy by a shady watch dealer is not acceptable. Not to worry. Reading this article will help arm you with the knowledge needed to successfully buy a Swiss watch online or in a store without worry.

First when buying a pre-owned watch online reputation is everything. Please let me repeat, reputation is everything. If the seller does not have hundreds of reviews that are all positive we suggest you walk away. There are too many trusted dealers that have been in business many years; why give your business to someone new, without solid references. Remember if the deal is too good to be true it almost always is. Be sure to know the sellers return policy before you send payment. Make sure to get the return policy in writing. Get an invoice before sending payment. As soon as you get the watch get it looked over by a local expert and get an appraisal for your watch this can be used for insurance purposes later on and peace of mind. These are just a few tips to help keep you safer while buying a high end Swiss Watch online.

Armed with a little knowledge can help you get the Rolex you are looking for whether it’s a Submariner, Daytona, President, Explorer or others these guidelines will help with all models.

Rolex Submariner

In 2010 at Basel Fair Rolex released the new StainlessSteel Submariner Ceramic reference 116610LN. This watch was replacing the much loved reference 16610ln, which was in production since 1989. The new Submariner Ceramic was a complete overhaul on the old design. From the case, to the bracelet, to the bezel, to the clasp everything was re-engineered.
Lets start with the case. The new case on the 116610LN submariner Ceramic is known as the Maxi case. The overall proportions have been increased from height of the case to the lugs getting a much more robust profile. The dial remains the same size at 40mm. The dial was also updated to a maxi dial. The dial now features larger hour markers, which were previously debuted on the 16610LV. The hour minute and seconds hands were updated and made to be a little thicker and more easily seen against the black dial background. The bracelet now features solid links all the way around. The bezel is no longer a metal insert. The bezel is now made from what Rolex calls Cerachrome. Most people call them ceramic though. The new ceramic bezels are hit with platinum atoms to give the permanent and beautiful color of the numerals on the bezel. These new bezels are virtually scratch proof and take a huge amount of force to break. These Rolex ceramic bezels take over 40 hours to make.
The clasp is a thing of beauty. The clasp is now known as the glidelock clasp. There is a very ingenious micro adjustment built within the clasp allowing for quick and easy adjustments. The clasp is no longer made from stamped metal but is now very thick and solid.

Rolex is now using the parachrome blue hair spring. It is an in house made hairspring and is resistant to magnetic fields. Rolex has also added paraflex shock absorbers to the movement to allow it to better handle day to day abuse.
