Everyone knows if you want a new Rolex you can walk into an
Authorized Dealer and buy one. But what do you do when you are ready to sell your Rolex and cash out or upgrade it to a better model? Well there are several
options of liquidating or upgrading your Rolex watch or any other fine Swiss
Watch you may be looking to sell.
Your first option is always taking it into the Authorized
Dealer you bought it from and see if they will make you an offer. Often times
however the Dealer will only take make an offer if you are looking to get
another watch from them and usually give you a heavily discounted trade in
value.
Your second option would be taking it to a local gold or pawnshop.
We cannot stress enough to avoid places like this. They do not know the true
value of Swiss Watches and will almost always give you a very low offer.
Your third option is trying to sell it yourself on eBay or
an online forum. This could be a great option if you have the proper shipping insurance
(UPS, FedEx only insure up to 5000), which is sometimes difficult to get. There
are so many scams so pleases be very cautions when selling online. We suggest
not using Western Union or PayPal. We suggest accepting bank wire transfer
only. This might be a good option if the seller is not in a hurry and can
mitigate their risk.
The fourth option is to sell it to a highly regarded and
highly trusted online store such as SwissWatchTime.com. A company like this
specializes in Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet watches and pay top
dollar for Swiss Watches. They provide a free shipping label so the seller does
not have to worry about shipping insurance or shipping costs. They often pay
within 10% of retail market value.
Often times selling a watch can be an ominous task but after
reading this we hope you have a better idea of how best to liquidate your
watch.
